Clients pay us for the services we provide.
For temporary and contract employees, clients pay by the hour. The rate includes the temporary employee’s pay, plus an additional charge for our services (as well as other employer expenses like taxes and insurance).
For direct hires (i.e., “permanent” positions), clients pay us a single fee only if they hire a candidate we refer.
Most of the time, the client sets the pay rate.
There’s a common misconception within our industry that a staffing service will pay a temporary employee less, so that they can make more money. At Wood Personnel, this couldn’t be further from the truth. In reality, we counsel our clients to offer temporary employees competitive wages. The higher the hourly wage, the more attractive the assignment is. That winds up being good for everybody!
